Who would’ve thought that a B.Com. student managing events and brainstorming fintech strategies would fall in love with law? Well, fast forward a few years, and here I am, neck-deep in legal research, intellectual property rights (IPR), and courtroom buzz. Let’s take a trip down memory lane, from the early days of events and marketing to my current legal escapades!
Gungho Event Management Services Pvt. Ltd. (June 2019 – July 2019)
My journey kicked off at Gungho Events, where I discovered the art of managing clients and time (trust me, handling event slots is no joke!). Working with big names like the British High Commission was a huge confidence boost and honed my multitasking skills, which I would later find super useful in the legal world. This internship was all about building strong client relationships and staying cool under pressure, two things that have stuck with me throughout.
Wild Chambal (June 2021 – July 2021)
Fast forward to Wild Chambal, where I jumped into the sales side of things. Managing sales in Southwest Delhi wasn’t just about numbers; it was about understanding market competition and crafting marketing strategies. It was here that I learned to think critically and analyse competition skills I had no idea would later apply to legal research and case analysis.
Sqrrl Fintech (December 2021)
My stint at Sqrrl Fintech was my deep dive into customer engagement and user experience. I worked on improving the app experience for Sqrrl users and suggesting strategies to boost customer engagement. This internship gave me a glimpse into the importance of understanding people, whether it’s a customer or a client; knowing how to connect with them is essential. Little did I know that this experience would be useful when working on client meetings in law firms!
Dish TV India, Noida (December 2022)
This was the big one—the turning point where I stepped into the legal world for the first time. At Dish TV India, I worked with the in-house legal team, focusing on the Negotiable Instruments Act and the Copyright Act. This was my first taste of drafting legal documents, managing case files, and seeing how legal strategies come together. I got hooked! Litigation prep was an intense learning experience, and after this, I knew law was my true calling.
District and Sessions Court, Saket, New Delhi (January 2022)
Post Dish TV, I jumped right into the courtroom at Saket District Court, where I observed trials and participated in client meetings. This experience gave me firsthand exposure to the courtroom atmosphere, where I could see theory being applied in real-life situations. I also did my fair share of research here—building on the analytical skills I’d picked up from previous internships.
District and Sessions Court, Tis Hazari, New Delhi (July 2023)
I took things up a notch at Tis Hazari District Court, where I dived deep into legal research and case law analysis. Watching cases unfold right in front of me, assisting lawyers with research, and absorbing courtroom procedures gave me a huge adrenaline rush. This was the moment when my legal research skills really sharpened, and I began to appreciate the intricate details that go into each case.
Corporate Law Group, New Delhi (June 2023)
The switch to **Corporate Law Group** opened my eyes to the complex world of company law, contract law, and data protection. My business background came in handy here as I researched regulatory frameworks for the pharma industry, which is as complex as it sounds! I also got the chance to assist senior attorneys and attend client meetings. It was a blend of business and law—a perfect fit for me!
Archer & Angel Advocates and Legal Consultants, New Delhi (January 2024)
And finally, my most recent adventure at Archer & Angel This was a dream come true for my IPR-loving heart! I researched the Trademarks Act 1999, the Limitation Act, and even put together a detailed presentation on Intellectual Property Rights in the Gaming Industry—two of my biggest interests, law and gaming, combined! Drafting legal notices and participating in court hearings made this internship an all-around winner for me. The best part? I even contributed to the firm’s newsletter, breaking down legal updates in a digestible way.
Up Next? Sai Krishna & Associates!
So, what’s next for me? I’m gearing up for my next big adventure at Sai Krishna & Associates, a Tier 1 IPR firm, where I’m ready to dive even deeper into my passion for intellectual property rights. This is where all my previous experiences will come together, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come! From events and fintech to courtrooms and corporate law, each experience has been a stepping stone to where I am now. And I’ve only just scratched the surface of this incredible legal journey. Stay tuned, because the best is yet to come!
